Mariel MacuhaWhen is your birthday coming? Snapchat has a little treat for everyone! It has launched a new lens, called a Birthday Party which gives snaps look extra festive on your party.
Anyone can now make Snapchat a more official part of their special events. According to Mashable, “The app rolled out a new “Birthday Party” feature on Tuesday, which allows you to unlock special Snapchat lenses on your birthday and on the birthdays of friends. You can enable the feature by entering your birthday in the app’s main settings under the new birthday menu.”
The update of the app, only includes two birthday-specific filters which can only use on your birthday, or your friend’s birthday. Good thing about On-Demand Geofilters, introduced last Monday on Snapchat’s blog, let’s you create or custom a Geofilter for your party, or any other event. In this way, it will become more personalized and special.
How it works:

- Design — Use your favorite image editor to create a filter. We’ve also provided some templates that are compatible with Photoshop and Illustrator to get you started 🙂
- Map — Pick a geofence where your filter will appear, then choose the time and dates you want your Geofilter to be available.
- Buy — Submit your Geofilter. Our team will quickly review it and, assuming all is well, get it up and running.
Once you’ve designed your filter, which Snapchat offers variety of templates, you’ll map out the specific area you want the filter to appear in, and for how long. It is available now in US, UK, and Canada and will be coming soon on other countries. You can purchase On-Demand Geofilters for an event for a starting price of $5.
